Quito Old Town and Teleferico Day Tour



The Quito Old Town and Teleférico Day Tour includes lunch, all entrance fees, guide (English and Spanish) and private transport. The tour starts with a scenic ride on the Teleférico to Cruz Loma at 4000m in altitude. Here at the base of the Pichincha Volcanoes, we take a short hike (1 hour) while your guide explains the the flora and fauna of the alpine páramo. On a clear day you will be treated to incredible views of Quito and the surrounding snow capped volcanoes. Afterwards, we make a historical tour of Quito Old Town where we visit museums, churches and plazas. Around 2pm we will stop for lunch at one of the traditional restaurants. Later we indulge in chocolate tasting before visiting one of the most famous landmarks in Quito, el Panecillo.

Visit famous churches which may include: La Basílica del Voto Nacional, La Compañía de Jesus, Iglesia de San Francisco

08h30 – The Quito Old Town and Teleferico day tour departs from our designated meeting point outside Honey Coffee & Tea (get directions) in Plaza Foch. 

(Your tour guide and private transport will already be waiting for you outside the coffee shop.)

09h00 – Arrive at the teleferico

09h15 – 09h45 – Ride to the Cruz Loma (4000m)

10h00 – 11h00 – Short hike and sightseeing

11h00 – 11h30 – Ride down Teleferico

11h30 – 12h00 – Drive to Old Town

12h00 – 14h00 – Walking tour

14h00 – 15h00 – Lunch

15h00 – 16h00 – Continue walking tour

16h00 – 17h30 – Visit to el Panecillo

17h30 – 18h00 – Drive to designated drop off point in Plaza Foch

Acclimatization  – You will be travelling to an altitude above 4000 m in the Andes mountain range. Please ensure you have spent at least 2 days in Quito before joining this day tour.
